An off week

Just waiting around for work effectively in digital media work to be marked, unfortunately i do this long distance so i rely on course content online. My tutor and another did a workshop for this unit yesterday and i thought it worthwhile spending money on the train fare and traveling for over an hour to get this unit knocked out at campus but i had two appointments 9am and 2pm that day so i missed out.

I watched a bit of E3 footage here and there, it looked mostly the usual and i found it to be boring. There isn't any games on the new consoles that interest me still after this years E3. Hoping for a resident evil 7 and a red dead game but oh well.

  I been playing elder scrolls online a few hours a night until a week ago where i canceled the subscription, i got sick of doing quest after quest and decided i had played enough for now. It is very nice on the ultra settings and i started playing to get an idea of how a current gen mmo looks as far as geometry goes. Def not skyrim and def not surpasses skyrim i think Final Fantasy 14 has way better gameplay than eso but is a lot more grinds for xp. I play Twisted Metal on ps3 and its still the best game i have played so far, its to bad this game never got the dlc attention it deserved and lost most of its user base because of the limited deathmatch arenas. I have wrote on a few forums how much potential this game could have if they expanded on its concept and made it into a mario like franchise based on cars. For example incorporating a destruction derby mode without the weapons and having races on actual race tracks with and without weapons. An mmo free roam mode would be good also where players/clans can be social and show off their rides etc.

Object oriented programming is a unit in this course that has no content in it apart from a book you can read that was published in 2011 on unreal script, i have tried the first code example but it wont even work in udk and doesn't get past the compile stage. Even by search the solutions are not working on the code, i even tried 2012 nov udk but it still didn't work there is no actual pointer on what udk to use. Copy and pasting the example code wont work and im having a difficult time with it as trying to follow this book is a total nuisance. Im going to start learning C++ at pluralsight  until they put up something content wise, Since UE4 is only C++ i may aswell.

Working Effectively In The Digital Media Industry II

I have completed the final draft for the 3rd assessment now. This assessment had a lot of legal issues concerning intellectual property and ownership. It also had issues concerning peoples likeness. The aim of this assessment was in evaluation of these criteria.

• Respond to requests and resolve client queries and issues as they arise
• Apply legislative and regulatory requirements
• Apply industry codes of practice and guidelines
• Seek and respond positively to comments and feedback from peers and clients using evaluation techniques.

Through out most of the assessments i began by researching keywords in the topics. Upon finding information that inspired me to complete a task i would block out my reply roughly and refine the information by re-wording and organizing it to make it look presentable. When all the tasks were completed i spent some time reviewing the task questions and my answers to evaluate the flow of the information to determine if i could further refine any sentences or paragraphs.

The client didn't have many questions and i felt one of them conflicted with a collation of answers to the previous one which left me a little confused, i decided to reply concerning to the information in the previous question. In any case if it wasn't the right reply my tutor will surely let me know any get me on the right direction.

In the final assessment i will be in an evaluation meeting with my tutor from there on i am to review my work practices and collate a document on how i plan to improve upon them.

At the current i think an improvement would be visiting a library to see what information i can find there.
